The Commission of Employment Equity is currently in consultation with industry stakeholders to finalise the highly-anticipated Employment Equity Draft Amendment Bill. One of the key features of the bill will be introducing tailored Economically Active Population (EAP) targets. For employment equity compliance, this will be a simple exercise that may affect designated employers’ quantitative analysis and numerical targets for each occupational level. Due to the inter-relatedness of B-BBEE legislation and employment equity regulations, there may also be changes in management control (Statement 200) and skills development (Statement 300), as these elements include EAP targets to allocate the points you may earn.
